Liberty Flyers is the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) radio control aircraft club located in Petaluma, California. We have approximately 90 members and fly at Liberty Field, a private, gated field in northwest Petaluma. Our members fly electric-powered airplanes, helicopters, and multi-rotor drones - but a handful also fly nitro or gas-powered models. In addition to year-round fun flying, we occasionally hold combat competitions. No matter what style of flying you prefer, Liberty Flyers is dedicated to providing a fun and safe experience for everyone. Members pay annual dues that pay for rental of the land and site upkeep. Members may invite guests to fly with them, but as an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) sanctioned club, all pilots are required to be members of the AMA and have AMA Open Insurance. Club MeetingsWhenever there isn't a COVID pandemic to prevent it, the club meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 6pm at Mt. Mike's Pizza, 6314 Commerce Boulevard in Rohnert Park (map). As you might guess, there is pizza at every meeting! We have an auction after the meeting. Members bring RC parts and anything of use for the auction, and proceeds are used for the Pizza fund. 2023 Club Officers
